The mobile hair and beauty salon offers big name beauty brands just when you need them most. Once again Vanity Van is partnering with Paul Mitchell® Luxury Hair Care for on-site hair makeovers. New to the line-up this year, stylists will be offering INKWORKS®, a demi-permanent solution, perfect for flashes of artist-inspired festival colour. DIY hair styling slots start from £12 or opt for a stylist from £19.
Discover the full Paul Mitchell® experience including a relaxing massage with the Vogetti® body brush which is used to give an invigorating and hangover-busting massage. It can be used over clothes to massage and stimulate pressure points, ideal after an uncomfortable night’s camping.
Men can get sexy too, with male makeovers and styling using MITCH™ by Paul Mitchell®, a new range of grooming products for the style conscious male.
For this summer’s tousled festival style, Vanity Van will offer Cloud Nine equipment, including curling wands, straighteners, and the new O system heated rollers for instant volume in just four seconds - perfect for on-the-go glamour.
There’s no need for mud-encrusted nails with manicures using Nubar’s fabulous range of nail colours from £15 for an express manicure. Need something more long-lasting? Nubar’s amazing Gelicure gel polish lasts more than three weeks but only takes approx 30 minutes to apply, from £35.
Rebel Nail wraps are a celebrity fave, for long-lasting and chip-free colour from £20. Katy Perry is an A-list fan and you can try Rebel Nail wraps in on-trend animal print, lace or mirror gold for eye-catching digits.

This year, Vanity Van will be rocking up public side and backstage at Rockness, Beach Break Live, Radio Ones Hackney Weekender, Latitude, Wakestock, Rewind, V Festival and Creamfields. And it’s not just festival-goers that will be treated to a touch of pampering. Vanity Van has also been asked to feature at sporting events including the Grand Prix, Henley Regatta and Bournemouth Sevens.

Vanity Van are currently seeking new team members to come on board and work with us at our public, private and corporate events this summer.
Examples of some of the public events we will be attending with salons in the campsites, arenas and backstage include (tbc) – V festival, Rockness, Creamfields, Radio Ones Hackney Weekender, Wakestock, Beach Break Live, Latitude festival, Grand Prix and Henley Regatta.
We are looking for the following:
Salon managers – who are responsible for setting up and breaking down the alfresco salons, running the salon during the event, organising appointments, liaising with customers, cash handling and managing their teams activities.
Salon Assistants – support the salon managers activities, help with customer management, support the therapists and keep the salon area organised.
Sales/Promo staff – helping with set up and break down, promoting to customers on site, selling treatments and retail products.
Photographers – taking photos of customer results and salon activities on all of our sites.
Dates and times
The work is on a freelance event by event basis. However we have events most weeks from the beginning of June until Sept so we are particularly interested in people that can work with us at multiple consecutive events.
Hours and days vary however for most weekend events we start on site in a Wednesday or Thursday and finish on a Monday.
Location
The events are UK wide.
Rates
All public event include your ticket into the event and time off in the evenings to experience the festival. Travel is covered and some food, snacks and drinks are provided on site.
For public events Salon Managers are fully incentivised and are paid commission for every sale made within their salon area. Sales/Promo staff are paid commission for every treatment and retail sale they are responsible for.
Salon Assistants and Photographers are paid a basic day rate dependant on their experience levels.
Training
There will be training in advance of the season around all aspects of running the salons including on the job training and trial events.
Skills and qualities
Training is given to the right candidates however we are interested to hear what relevant experience you may have for example working in similar environments including salons and events.
We are particularly seeking candidates who exhibit the following qualities:

Therapist Interview Process 2012
****We are pleased to announce that due to an unprecedented response we have released some new dates for further interview opportunities - please see below and register your interest ASAP in order to be considered for a position this summer****
We require a wide range of multi skilled and specialist staff based across the UK and we will have lots of varied work available this summer.
Firstly the work we have involves our public mobile salons which will be featuring at numerous festival and sporting events within the public camping and main arena areas, VIP hospitality areas and backstage with the artists.
We also will be undertaking all kinds of event based work throughout the summer everything from corporate parties, to fun days, hen parties to weddings to brand launches.
We have a fabulous new double decker bus salon which will be used at our major festival events and will be hired out by our private and corporate clients. See here for a link to an artists impression of what it will look like.
Pay scales
Post interview all successful staff are set a pay scale relevant to their experience and length of service with the company. Corporate and private work is paid on an hourly rate and our public salon work is paid on commission.
